We are deep into a year that is going by fast. We picked out some of the best songs in July that you may or may not have missed.

Shameless - Buddy ft. Guapdad 4000
Buddy's debut album Harlan & Alondra is so excellent that I didn’t know which song to pick for the playlist. But anthemic songs that talk about ‘the goal’ really appeal to me and so I decided to go with Shameless (because Black made an earlier playlist). This song is also great because of Guapdad 4000’s calm and wavy verse. Please, give Buddy’s album a listen. - Iyin
Mad - Vector
Vector has been silent for a while now, he’s back to his true form on this upbeat song. He spits with the usual wit and skill we’ve come to expect from him, this song has the perfect bounce for a big summer record. - Uzo
La Di Da - The Internet
These guys are so cool and effortless. A funky banger with an african vibe with Syd & Steve Lacy taking turns on the sultry hook. You’ll find yourself nodding to this. Checkout their new album Hive Mind and the official video. - Iyin
Fire Waist - Skales ft. Harmonize
Anytime Skales links up with his fellow Jo’s native Chopstixs, more often than not that it’s going to be a banger. Fire Waist serves as the lead single for his album Mr Love. It looks like Skales has another hit on his hands. - Uzo
Again O - Lil Kesh
A man of the people as always. Lil Kesh gives the people the energy they want with this track. Again O is a track that would have kids everywhere breaking out their best shaku shaku moves. - Uzo
Heavy, California - Jungle
Jungle, the electronic group from London combine funk and jazz really well to produce very danceable tracks. I’m personally a big fan (they sound so good live). Heavy California, their latest single off their LA heavily themed album For Ever is destined for the charts. The single is accompanied with a group dancing video as usual. - Iyin
Kpa - Dremo ft. Davido
Dremo is trying to woo a lady on this track, with assistance from Davido. He professes his love for the girl and let’s her know that there’s nothing she wants that he can’t provide, he has the kpa(money). - Uzo
Say It to My Face - Thutmose
I’ve been following the Nigerian born rapper for a while and he follows Ride with Me with another banger. Thutmose does justice to the heavy production, showing out his lyrical flow and catchy hook. - Iyin
Unleash - Runtown ft. Fekky
Runtown and Fekky give us the ultimate vibe on this song, they ride the Del b beat effortlessly and just unleash swag on this jam that’s perfect for an evening ride. - Uzo
Kiss On My Neck - Maya B
One of the best pop songs I’ve heard in a while. Originally released in 2017, newcomer Maya B blends her incredible vocals over an equally impressive electronic beat. - Iyin
Serial hit makers like Yoke Lore, The 1975, Lany & Joan released great songs in July. Checkout the full list on Apple music or Spotify.
