Keeping up with the NBA

Hi guys, it’s Big Bob for Amped Sports and I'll be keeping you up to speed with the 2018 NBA free agency.

Best Deals

#1 Paul George staying in Oklahoma: Let me just get it out first, I’m an OKC fan and no, that’s not why I ranked this as the best deal (I’m sure you were expecting Lebron here). If you follow the NBA all year and you’re not just a playoffs or finals watcher, you’d know OKC were really solid against the elite teams last year before Roberson went down, so George coming for a second year with better chemistry and Melo off the team would be really good.

#2 LeBron to LA-Bron: The king with a blockbuster move to Hollywood. This move only gets better when you realise Cav’s GM Lebron traded for Larry Nance and Jordan Clarkson for Channing Frye and Isiah Thomas’ expiring contracts, clearing cap room to sign better pieces for LA-Bron. He’s playing with a bunch of young studs, which is why this move lands at the #2 spot.

CP#3 staying in Houston: This move was a no brainer. CP finally silenced all his critics after getting to his first conference finals and getting Houston within a game of the NBA finals (we all know they’d be in the finals if he didn’t get injured). Similar to PG staying in OKC, CP3 and Harden with a year under their belts have a chance to win it all.

Notable shouts: Jokic staying in Denver, JJ Redick back in Philly & Nurkic staying put in Portland as well.

Worst Moves

#1 DeAndre Jordan: DeAndre getting a 1 year $23 million deal from the Mavs is crazy. The same guy that bailed on you 3 years back and the same guy who is only effective 2 feet away from the basket? I personally think DJ should be in the $10-12M range. He’s overpaid even if it’s a one year deal.

#2 DeMarcus Cousins: What’s up with De’s on this list, anyways, this was a really bogus move from Boogie. Everyone wants to pull a James Jones and get a ring for doing nothing now huh? Smh

Notable shouts: Randle to the Pelicans, Mr Shaqtin-a-fool to the Lakers.

Best Guys still on the market

#1 Isaiah Thomas: I feel bad for him, really. This man was on track to getting paid max dollars 14 months ago after totally balling out. I feel he should bet on himself with a one year contract with a team like the magic or nets and ball out again.

#2 Clint Capela: This is one of those cases where a player isn’t so good but fits a system perfectly. I’m guessing his demands are too high, that’s why Houston hasn’t sealed this thing yet. Come on Clint, do the right thing for the rest of the NBA (GSW Haters).

Notable shouts: Dwayne Wade, Jamal Crawford.

Finally, Please retire, Vince Carter, Please.
