To plan to have my bath, I take a detour to just chill and look for a playlist to listen to while in the shower. And on the Apple Music 'For You' section, I see a song that brings superb and much easier memories to my life and in the lives of our most celebrated music duo - our Favorite Twin brothers Peter & Paul Okoye.

The title of the song is ‘Story’ off their debut commercial album - Get Squared. I remember blasting this album back in the day around 2004/2005 on a friend’s Walkman and wouldn’t stop listening to it, because the music on that album was blissful and amazing to listen to, even for a ten-year-old. Peter & Paul in their album making mode were usually unstoppable. As most artistes usually break out with famous singles, these ones made themselves known with the caliber of studio albums that they put out back in the day.

Fast forward to this moment, the talented music duo has separated and have stopped making incredible music together. Instead, they have individually gone on to disappointingly relaunch themselves as upcoming solo artistes and have failed. They were decent & witty songwriters, celebrated dancers who sold out stadiums around Africa and the world. The impact that this one song/album; Story / Get Squared had on the Okoye Brothers is one for the books that could be referenced upon for years to come as classic material.

There was this initial commitment that they shared while they wanted to be known in an industry that was heralded by solo acts like Dbanj & 2face. The feat that P-Square achieved with the success of their album projects, culture related impacts & stage performances is one that even their immediate twin brothers music duo - The Mamuzee twins couldn’t even imagine of doing. Now they’ve let all this greatness fade away because of ego and family drama.

But in appreciation of the art that they dispensed in the song - 'Story', they should accord themselves a chance to relive that era when they were ‘unstoppable’ in order to cement their legacy currently, in the midst of over saturated music in the industry. Their discography will forever be appreciated for generations to come as you can hardly skip a P-Square classic album. With very commendable music videos, the Okoye Brothers are largely music legends.

So, here’s a plea for the good people and supporters, preferably handlers of the both camps to join hands to lock the two brothers in a room and make them listen to 'Story' repeatedly, so they can reminisce on the time when they were bent on getting their voices heard and leaving a mark when they started their career in music. Maybe it can lead to them an epiphany on how they are letting down an entire continent by not deciding to work together anymore and how they were once appreciated by their fans.

Asides the viability of the music material that they put out, it’s also about the art, if we are been honest. So, it’s time for Peter & Paul to connect to their main ‘Story’ for doing music and Fly Away home... Together!
