The 10 Best Shows you have never heard of, and need to start watching.

Summer is here , TV Season is over and with it comes the doldrums of all shows going on break. If you are like me and are too broke for a holiday , I have the perfect alternative - binging tv! But it cannot be just any TV show, it has to be well worth your time. I have made a diverse list of shows that appeals to everyone and different tastes. The List is 11 along with some honorable mentions. I left out some older shows and stuck to mostly shows that started airing since 2015 , so all relatively new shows.

11. Cobra Kai : Cobra Kai isn't the best show ever, it's a continuation of the beloved 80s classic , the Karate Kid. It knows what it is and yet it tries to be its own thing and becomes something worthwhile on it's own not just banking on nostalgia. It follows the stars of the original Karate Kid Daniel Russo and Johnny , their lives have taken different paths. It's an enjoyable web drama on youtube that is well worth your time.

10. Imposters : Imposters , was a surprise a great one, a little known gem on bravo network. It centers on a young man Ezra bloom who is trying to piece together his life after getting scammed and teams up with her other victims to get closure and truth about the person that ruined their lives , fun and funny , Imposters is worth your time. ( 2 seasons )

9. Bojack Horseman : Bojack horseman follows a down and out washed up former sitcom star Bojack horseman , haunted by addictions , bad decisions , burnt relationships and childhood demons , bojack decides it is time for his comeback as a serious actor and decides to head back to Hollywood to face his demons. ( 4 seasons )

Genre : comedy drama , animated

If you like Rick & Morty and Mad men , you might enjoy this.

8. FleaBag : Might be a bit low considering how perfect the first and so far only season was, but fleabag is an incredible show .Poignant and funny yet also pretty dark, follows a young woman in London trying to build a life for herself while dealing with depression and her crumbling personal life. If you liked these shows : You're the Worst, Master of None and LoveSick , you'd enjoy fleabag , and if you like fleabag give those a try. ( 1 season )

7. The Chi :The Chi is set in south-side chicago following , it's kinda like The Wire but more welcoming with a dash of slice of life drama. It follows people from all walks of life with different ages and perspectives, from schools , the drug game , police , private businesses and more, as they all try to navigate and survive Chicago and how they are all connected. ( 1 season )

6. Mindhunter: The mind of a killer is a dark and scary place thriller and trying to catch them and figure them out is a dangerous game as young FBI agent Holden Ford and his mentor Trent. Lines are crossed and people damaged forever as they in their quest to catch killers go to places they shouldn't. ( 1 season )

Genres: crime drama

If you like Luthor , Killing Eve and Hannibal , this is the show for you.

5. Veep: Veep follows the much maligned and at times inept Vice President of the Unites States, Selina Meyers and her band of incompetent aides and dysfunctional as they are trying to make an impact and name for themselves. ( 5 seasons )

Genre: Comedy

If you like the following shows: Silicon Valley, The Office, 30 rock and Arrested development, give Veep a try , and if you like Veep give the former a try.

4. Mr Robot : Mr Robot follows the life of secret hacktivist, Elliot who aspires to make the world a freer and better place by breaking the chains of capitalism, however Elliot is battling mental illness and conspiracies and secret motives threatening to warp his mission and ideals. It's a slick tense thriller and drama that has powerful moments and great twists.

3. Humans : Are machines just machines ? If they gain consciousness , are they are equals , or potentially our greaters ? Humans tackles this question ( it does this better than Westworld ) and follows a not to far future where humans have invented androids named synths who serve our every need, and follows a rare group of synths who have developed consciousness and struggling to find their place in this world. ( 3 seasons )

2. Atlanta : Down and out of his luck deadbeat Earn is going nowhere and fast , smart and clever but stuck in a dead end job with a child. He finally sees a way out when his cousin has become a fast rising rapper Paper boi ( real name Alfred ) in the city of Atlanta, and sees a way , teaming up with paper boi's best friend Darius , they have surreal and insane but fun adventures in the city of Atlanta with great social commentary and amazing writing and acting, sort of like a cross between Fresh Prince and Entourage. ( 2 seasons ).

1. Handmaid's Tale : This might be the best show on Television over the last 2 years , period, there's no show on tv like it. Following a dystopian America, where an extreme right wing who use it to oppress women and everyone and have broken them down into different social classes. It follows the tale of a handmaid name June now renamed Offred , one of the few remaining fertile women in america as she tries to survive in the new dangerous world , her old life and her fight to remain unbroken in spirit. It is not for the faint hearted ( many of you won't be able to continue past the first few episodes ) and at times delves into torture porn , but it is beautifully shot and well acted, and beyond well worth your time.
