Maleek Berry dropped another solid body of work, this album is full of grooves that all the ladies love. Songs like Been Calling and Pon My Mind still gets the crowd going months after their release. 9. Adekunle Gold, "About 30"

The alternative crooner sophomore offering was everything you’d want in a second album, he stepped up his game musically and commercially without diluting his content. 8. Dj Neptune,"Greatness"

DJ Neptune’s album came out early in the year so it’s easy to forget how good it was, it’s up there in best DJ albums in recent years. The album has hits from artists like Mayorkun, Kizz Daniel, Olamide and Burna Boy. 7.Kizz Daniel, "No Bad Songz"

Kizz Daniel has proven himself to be a hit maker and on this album he lives up to expectation. The lead single Wait has proven to be Kizz' biggest song yet. 6. Mayorkun, "The Mayor of Lagos"

Mayorkun is a star and there’s no ifs, buts or ands about it. On The Mayor of Lagos, he showcases all of his best skills and put out an excellent LP. The album reminded us just how many hits The Mayor has made and shows us he has a lot more in store.

5. MI, "A Study On Self Worth: Yxng Dxnzl"

Two albums in a year is a Herculean task, that not a lot of people would be willing to take on, but MI did it and did it well. Yxng Dxnzl is a project where MI experiments with what Nigerian Hip-Hop should sound like, though it’s not the best album out there, it’s an interesting take on things. 4. Odunsi (The Engine), "Rare"

Odunsi might be the prince of Alte music, going into this album there was a lot of talk of how the music would translate and if it could work. It’s a solid body of work and Odunsi showed signs that he could go on to be great.

3. Show Dem Camp, "Palmwine Music 2"

Show Dem Camp's sequel to the highly touted Palmwine Music tape was a pleasant surprise. Movie fans would know the sequel is never as good as the original, but they did a good job with the balancing act of not chasing the past in Palmwine Music 1 and creating something new but still remaining true to the vibe. 2 Mr Eazi, "Lagos To London"

This is Mr Eazi’s second body of work and somehow Mr Eazi’s has not seemed to miss a beat or suffer from the usual sophomore slump that happens to acts after a highly successful debut. Eazi managed to keep his core fans pleased and still expand his audience on this album. 1. Burna Boy, "Outside"

2018 was the year of Burna Boy, he manifested the greatness which he had shown glimpses of early in his career and Outside was his coming out party. The album was just about as close to perfection anyone not married to Beyoncé can get.
