“The focus of Women Chune Wednesdays is on taking the adoration of women on Wednesdays i.e #WCW, and placing it on women in music. 3 amazing projects (song or tape) by female artistes from any time period in music will be shared weekly. Look out for your favs!” - A lover of women & music.”

Lady Donli - Letters to Her (2017)

Cross over single Ice Cream featuring Tomi Thomas would prove to be Donli’s major breakout song. The song came at the back of 2 EPs and Letters To Her is her third offering in a prolific career. Produced in entirety by Garvie, the sound on Letters To Her traverses R&B, alternative jazz & Soul.
Critical Reception
“On Letters To Her, she sings with a quiet confidence that is infectious… though she is reliving heartbreak in these songs, her vocals throughout are soothing — resigned yet optimistic, weary but still hopeful. ” — Damilola Animashaun (Konbini)
Solange - A Seat at the Table (2016)

This album was a reintroduction for Solange following her 8 year long silence after her second album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St.Dreams. Solange has explained in the past how she made sacrifices “mentally, emotionally and financially” to create this album. Further saying “It’s more than an album to me. It’s a transitional time in my life.”
It’s a collection of carefully created & curated songs alluding prejudice & blackness that earned Solange her first grammy nomination & win with “Cranes in The Sky” for best R&B performance in 2017.
Critical Reception
“A fantastic-sounding LP that takes sonic cues from dusty soul sides while sounding as timely as a freshly sent tweet” — Maura Johnston (Rolling Stone)
Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday (2010)

Many would agree that this album contains some of the most diverse & compelling music Nicki has ever made. In my opinion, in spite of its sonic disparities, it’s unarguably her most cohesive body of work. She showed her pop and R&B sensibilities on cuts like “Right Thru Me” & “Your Love”, she brought the rap heat on “Blazin” with Kanye West, exchanged bars with Eminem on “Roman’s Revenge” and her synergy with Drake on Moment 4 Life is striking. Having those names as guests on your album is no mean feat, but it makes it much harder to remain the star of your album. Nicki still shone on Pink Friday.
Critical Reception
“... feed off the production, the great musical ideas, and Minaj’s keen sense of her surroundings, and Pink Friday is an outstanding success” — David Jeffries (AllMusic)
