Teyana Taylor - K.T.S.E (2018)

To a large extent Teyana typifies jill of all trades; she’s an actress, reality TV star, dancer and model, she is also famed to have designed the fastest selling sneakers in Adidas Originals history. Listen, Teyana can do all things. She brings her artiste side to bear once again on K.T.S.E, following 2014’s impressive VII. What I love most about No Manners is how it feels like it will explode into an 808s infused trap song but it never does. Her soulful duet with Ty Dolla Sign on 3Way makes a ménage trois feel like a sacred gathering as she sings “..two heads are better than one”.
Critical Reception
Rachel Aroesti of The Guardian described K.T.S.E. as “a record that melds new and old R&B with such flair"
Beyoncé - I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008)

Following 2006 funk fest B’day, this album saw Beyoncé introduce her on stage alter ego, Sasha Fierce. Released as a double CD; the first side contained the more customary slow and mid tempo R&B ballads of Bey, while the second (Sasha Fierce) is more wild, uptempo & electronic. The split personality CD was received with fair reviews but the album spawned major songs If I Were a Boy, Halo on the Bey side and Sweet Dreams, Ego & Hello on its b side. Critical Reception
Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond writing for defunct The Village Voice complimented "Sasha Fierce as "brassy, big-headed, confrontational, and witty," and stated, "each incendiary track challenges you to leave your inhibitions at coat-check.
Davina Oriakhi - Love to a Mortal (2017)

Davina Oriakhi is a much needed uplifting voice in music culture. On her broodingly titled debut LP, she takes you on soul-searching journey that’s anchored on love through album opener It’s All About Love. On These Feelings she yearns not to be judged because she’s human like everyone else. Asides being a good vocalist, she showed she’s gifted with spoken word on Temptation/Relapse as she asks arcane questions like how can destruction feel so good”, “how long does it take for a corpse to realize the difference between sleep & death”
Critical Reception
“She scores big points for her substance, as she relates emotions like none other by digging deep into to create a great sonic experience without dumbing down her monkish approach” - YJTheRuler (RADR)
